This all started with a humorous post I made a long time ago about putting beer on cornflakes in the morning instead of milk. For some reason that offended some folks.
I was then forced to defend my position by proving that beer is healthier than milk and ended up discovering through my research than not only is beer better for you than milk, milk actually is harmful to your health. See my earlier post Beer is Liquid Bread?
So, in yesterday’s post as the discussion continues, I included a YouTube video about how Fox News suppressed a report about how Monsanto’s bovine growth hormone (rBGH) which they call Posilac was causing cancer in cows and humans who drank milk from cows given Posilac. This product is banned in Canada and the EU but was approved by the FDA for use in US. Perhaps anticipating future lawsuits from those who end up victims of rBGH, Monsanto recently sold all rights to Posilac to Eli Lilly, the highly unethical global pharmaceutical company.
Monsanto likes cancer. They’ve been assisting in its growth (excuse the pun) for a long time. Their contributions to the global cancer epidemic include:
Aspartame- well, this is a good story… this sweet thing sold as Equal, NutraSweet and other brands had a hard time getting approved by the FDA until Searle hired Don Rumsfeld (yes the same guy, who as Secretary of Defense, promised that the Iraqis would welcome a US invasion with open arms). As soon as Searle got their approval, Monsanto, quickly recognizing a great and profitable way to spread brain and testicular cancer and other ills, bought the company.
RoundUp- all you farmer guys who like using this weedkiller, if you value your family jewels, watch out… Monsanto’s own report talks about severe testicular effects in rabbits. Where have all the bees gone in North America? Oh yes. Roundup kills bees. Good thing too really because since nothing is getting polinated, you have to buy those genetically enhanced seeds that just happen to be roundup resistant. Yes, good old Monsanto controls the global seed market and they are hell bent on having every seed modified and patented. Farmers used to save some of their grain to serve as the seed crop for next year. Now it is illegal because those seeds are patented and Monsanto will sue you.
and Agent Orange whose legacy is still being felt by the people of Vietnam. It’s not bad enough that 3 million people were murdered during that atrocity called the Vietnam war; thousands are still suffering the after effects of the chemicals supplied by Monsanto to the US military.
Monsanto and the other companies that produce genetically altered seeds are determined to accomplish their goals.
To wit: 1) you will eat foods made with genetically altered seeds whether you like it or not; 2) all food seeds will someday soon be genetically altered and patented, allowing these companies to control the world’s food supply.
So, give me a beer any day (as long as its not made by Monsanto or by using any product made by Monsanto) and keep your milk.
Oh, and sell your Monsanto stock; a day of reckoning will come. You can sit on your butt, drink Bud (hmmm… I wonder if the grain in that beer comes from a Monsanto genetically modified grain) and watch as your children’s world becomes a nightmare sci-fi movie; OR, you can take some responsibility and do something about it.
Late breaking news: Obama announces his team of Science Advisors which includes Sharon Long who was on the Board of Directors of Monsanto. Well, not really recent, that was last September; but it was after this blog post on Obama’s website. You will notice the guy never got a response to his question.
Ah shit, maybe its just easier after all to have a glass of warm milk, a chocolate chip cookie and a nice Prozac and sit down to watch CSI Miami.
