A marriage made in heaven

I really do not understand all the furor over gay marriage.
Why not give them the right to find out how ugly and painful divorce can be? 🙂

My friend Benjamynn in California emailed me today to tell me about the latest shenanigans from that hate mongering publicity hound Ken Starr.

Yeah, that’s right, the same guy who worked so hard to get Bill Clinton punished for getting Lewinskied is now attempting to force the state of California to mass divorce all the people it married while it was legal to do so.

My parents are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary in June. That is so cool.

I was married twice. Neither time worked out; but that doesn’t mean I want to take away the right of other people to take the chance that they can celebrate 6 decades of sharing their journey though life.

So, here’s my idea… if any 2 people want to get married, let them; if any number of people do not want to get married, don’t force them.

All you cultures that arrange marriages for children, all you cultures that essentially sell your daughters into slavery by forcing them into marriages, all you cultures that forbid 2 people who love each other to get married… YOU ARE SICK and IGNORANT.

Oh, in case you don’t know about Proposition 8 in the ballot of the last election in California. It was a bill baning gay marriage. It was voted in last Novemeber. It was mostly financed by the Mormon church. Yes, those same group of people who are forever marrying underage girls, starting  bigamy cults, commiting incest and generally ignoring the moral norms of western society. These are the people protecting the sanctity of marriage? It boggles the mind.

I know that people in California are really not any stupider than the rest of us; but what is the matter with you people out there? Put a gag on Ken Starr. Tell the Mormons to stay in Utah and mind their own business.

And, let gay folks hire their own divorce lawyers and get screwed like the rest of us. No need to give them a divorce for free. Why should they get special treatment like free divorce courtesy of the state? Why force it on them? Let them discover its pleasures by themselves.
