Last July, when Raphael Nadal beat Roger Federer at Wimbledon, I was so impressed by the level of play that it inspired me to write an article called The Winner’s Edge. Read it here.
A month earlier, I had watched these two great champions play at the French Open, where Nadal had also won.
Yesterday, I watched as these two on-court rivals played yet another superlative match. Again Nadal won. But look at how close it was. Federer won a total of 25 games in the five set match and Nadal won 26 games. Federer actually won more points, leading 174 to Nadal’s 173.
These two guys continue to bring out the best in each other and play at a level that is inspiring to watch. I love watching winners play.
