I received an email from a subscriber to my Prosperity Paradigm list last night. “What are your new year’s resolutions?” he wanted to know. But that was just the lead in to his real question, “Can you tell me what I should do to make 2009 a good year despite the economic situation?”
I’ll share my answer with you in case you find some value in it.
“I don’t actually make New Year’s resolutions; but I have made some specific plans for this year and I will share some of those with you.
“I plan on having more fun this year. I will do that by relishing all the wonderful things that I already have, by learning more, by creating more and by embarking on new adventures.
“I plan on making a greater contribution this year. I will raise my voice to remind people that they are powerful and can create a destiny of their own design if they choose to do so; and I will continue to remind interested individuals how to accomplish that.
“I plan on making more money this year. This is a time of tremendous opportunity.
“As for how you can make 2009 into a good year, I suggest you aim for having a truly wonderful year. Why settle for good, when you can have great? Here are some very simple things you can do to ensure that this coming year is awesome.
“First, start by appreciating that which you already have. Make a list of all the things that you have to be grateful for having. Remind yourself daily how fortunate you are to be you, to be living your life, to have the opportunities to have to grow, to become more, to experience more, to accomplish more, to attain more, to contribute more.
“Second, create a game plan with specific ideals, goals and objectives. My book, Your Prosperity Paradigm, offers a proven way to create and live a super-successful life. Read it. http://www.lulu.com/content/4204761
“Third, opt out of the mass mindset. Turn off your television. Don’t listen to the conversations about things that do not support your success and fulfillment. Create and follow your own ideals.
“Fourth, fill your mind with the right kind of information that supports the realization of your own ideals. Start interacting with self-actualizing individuals who know the value of masterminding with other success-minded people.
“Fifth, take action. Do those things that support your success. Drop the habits that do not serve you. Take on ones that do serve you. Actions become habits. Habits form a character. Character creates destiny. Do something every day that contributes to the lives of others. Do something every day that feels good. Do something every day that creates value.
“Above all, remember that you have the power of choice. Your beliefs, your thoughts, your feelings weave your reality. You can choose each of them. Don’t give away your personal power by not choosing to belief, think and feel intentionally. Always ask why you are being the way you are being in the world. What is the purpose in believing in things that do not serve you? What is the purpose in thinking about things that do not support your self-actualization? What is the purpose in feeling powerless?
“Believe in yourself. Believe in your ideals. Believe in your power to create. Focus your attention on what you want to become, to accomplish and to attain. Stay focused. Don’t allow yourself to get distracted by the passing events and circumstances.
“Have an awesome day, week, month and year. Plan on it. Resolve to be your best.”
